The Professional New York City Premiere of
Tom Cipullo's first opera:
Glory Denied
The Saga of Jim Thompson, America's Longest-Held Prisoner of War
This opera was written based on Tom Philpott’s book, Glory Denied. The opera was first performed in concert with piano by the Center for Contemporary Opera, then as a staged version with orchestra by the Brooklyn College Opera Theater. Amahl and the Night Visitors
RTBproject's beautiful production of Menotti’s 1-Act holiday Opera Amahl and the Night Visitors was performed in the beautiful sanctuary of Jan Hus Church up stairs from the Playhouse and was free-of-charge to the community. RTB partnered with the Guerilla Opera Project of The Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College once again to create this stunning 1-act opera. |

Shot
When Jill’s producer gives her the story, Violence Against Innocence, she is so excited she can hardly wait to share the news with Jack, her long-time colleague and friend. Neither she nor Jack have any idea when they begin research for their 7-minute, prime-time report, that their lives will be touched forever. Early in their investigation, a tragic event brings them to an extraordinary community where people work hard to make ends meet and to keep their families safe. As outsiders, they struggle to get the interviews and information they need to make their story work. As their news story unfolds, their characters evolve and the show develops into a heart-warming and touching drama. Shot is based on true events and, like Jill and Jack’s story, centers around one shocking event in particular. Unfortunately, it is not an isolated one in New York City, or any big city. Shot addresses the difficulties and dangers of life in the big city.We worked for months consulting with police, people in communities that deal with violence on a day-to-day basis and a talented young playwright in order to come up with an outline for our show.
We presented Shot for kids, our outreach version of this production in March and April 2006. Every outreach location received a comic book to familiarize the kids with the story and characters of Shot. You can view this comic book and all our past comics in the Outreach Comics section of our website. |

Holiday Concert 2005
RTB ended 2005 right with a Holiday Concert at Ronald McDonald House NYC. We were excited to learn that we had officially become part of the Ronald McDonald House family. After so many wonderful experiences performing there some of the regular visitors to Ronald McDonald House have started asking for us. We couldn't be more thrilled. |

Opera & Wine Gala
|
RTB's first annual Opera & Wine Gala was an incredible success. It took place at the beautiful Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew on Manhattan's Upper West Side on August 27, 2005. It was a selection of scenes and arias from popular operas put together to showcase our incredible Outreach Singers who have so generously donated their talent and time to work with RTB and perform for special-needs and at-risk children. A wine tasting, during intermission and after the performance, of some wonderful wine was made possible through donations from some of New York City's top wine stores and collectors. |

G Train The Musical
|
We were excited to bring this innovative music and amusing story to the stage February 2005. G Train The Musical featured five zany characters, as well as, new and exciting music, incorporating audio samples from New York subways into a melting pot of different styles and sounds.
The G Train has come to a stop for no known reason. 5 people whose paths would never otherwise cross, are stuck together in the subway car unable to understand the announcements. They end up knowing more about one another than they ever would have wanted. They are forced to find a way to get along under the stressful and irritating circumstances. The music draws from rap, opera, rock and R&B so there’s something for everyone.

Outreach Concert Series
This exciting and madcap concert series was designed to give children in hospitals a small escape. By bringing them into a world of make-believe and letting them in on behind-the-scene secrets of productions, we hoped to add a cheery thirty minutes to their day to help them forget the stress of being in a hospital. Our thematic concerts included Fun With Props & Costumes, Melodrama & Music, Music All Over The World and Cartoons At The Opera. These concerts featured one or two singers and small gifts for the children that were relevant to the show they are seeing. We also performed versions of these concerts for various senior homes in New York City. |

| House
House
was RTB’s
outreach production for 2004. The thirty minute opera, one of
Christian’s
first, which featured five singers and three dancers turned
out to be a cartoon-like show with an all electronic score that
the kids went crazy for. The narration, done by the House itself,
always left the kids laughing and even got them singing along.

| Reno Children’s Concert |
While in Reno for Clearly Mcleer, RTBproject also performed a concert for free at the Marvin Picolo School in Reno, which caters to severely handicapped children. The thirty-minute set was a sampling of Christian’s lighter material. Our inter-active performance left the children and staff smiling and giggling and won us an invitation to return next time we’re booked in Reno. |

Clearly McLeer |
Clearly McLeer took place at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno, NV on September 12, 2003 to an audience of approximately 1,100 people. It was a performance that incorporated every type of music that Christian has ever written, in a sense, a variety show of Christian’s music which included a full orchestra, a ballet and varied special guests. The first half of the show featured RTBproject along with guests Genaro Mendez and Olivia Cippola. The second half of the show included the Reno Chamber Orchestra as well as the highly acclaimed concert pianist, James Winn. Clearly McLeer was attended by a huge group of college students as well as opera and ballet fans. A large number of tickets (more than two hundred) were donated in RTB's name to teachers and health care workers that work with special-needs children in the Reno, Nevada area.

Back Porch Concert
|
RTBproject was featured in a concert series in Reno, Nevada called The Back Porch Concert Series. The series takes place on an immense and beautiful patio belonging to one of Reno’s patrons of the arts. We performed over an hour’s worth of Christian’s music and received an amazing response from a variety of music aficionados. That concert led to our hugely successful extravaganza, Clearly McLeer. |
| Hansel
& Gretel
Hansel
and Gretel was RTB’s
first outreach show. The original two performances were done
at the Lion Theater on 42nd Street, free of charge, for
families and school administrators. Then it was taken to
schools that participated in the Pennies Program for the
Leukemia Society and to special-needs and at-risk schools.
This was an original production of the classic opera by
Humperdinck with a new English translation, costumes and
set design.

After
Hours

|
Remarkable
Theater Brigade
introduced itself to New York in February of 2003 with After
Hours, its first production. The musical was well received
and its zany story was interwoven with the music of Christian
McLeer and well-known standards of Opera, Broadway and Pop. We
were thrilled to open at the Lion Theater on 42nd street, just
west of Time Square.
