Clearly McLeer took place at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno, NV on September 12, 2003 to an audience of approximately 1,100 people. It was a performance that incorporated every type of music that Christian had ever written, in a sense, a variety show of Christian’s music which included a full orchestra, a ballet and varied special guests. The first half of the show featured RTB along with guests Genaro Mendez and Olivia Cippola. The second half of the show included the Reno Chamber Orchestra as well as the highly acclaimed concert pianist, James Winn. Clearly McLeer was attended by a huge group of college students as well as opera and ballet fans. A large number of tickets (more than two hundred) were donated in RTB's name to teachers and health care workers that work with special-needs children in the Reno, Nevada area. This show was produced by OnTrac Productions.
While in Reno for Clearly Mcleer, RTB also performed a concert for free at the Marvin Picolo School in Reno, which caters to severely handicapped children. The thirty-minute set was a sampling of Christian’s lighter material. Our inter-active performance left the children and staff smiling and giggling and won us an invitation to return next time we’re booked in Reno.
RTB was delighted to collaborate with The Vicky Simegiatos Ballet Company and the Brooklyn College Conservatory Orchestra to bring Christian’s ballet, Grandfather Clocks to life. The audience literally cheered at the end! This entirely original production of Christian’s ballet was choreographed by Vicky Simegiatos and played to 700 people at the Whitman Theater at the Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts.
House was RTB’s outreach production for the 2003/2004 season. The thirty minute version of Christian’s first opera, featured five singers and three dancers and Monica staged it to be a cartoon-like show that the kids went crazy for. The narration, done by the House itself, always left the kids laughing and even got them singing along.
